Our Mission

Smart Home Energy Source is a Full-Service Solar Company that covers the complete spectrum of your Residential and Commercial Solar needs from design, installation through permits, approvals, rebates and financing. Our Professional Team Leaders collectively have decades of hands-on experience designing and installing hundreds of Solar Electric Panel Systems throughout Suffolk and Nassau County.

Founded in 2017 by Andrew Massimo and Sean Deptula with a vision to help people achieve financial and environmental benefits of generating renewable energy. Preserving natural resources while saving our clients thousands of dollars on their utility bill. Smart management, strong client relationships and streamline services.

Today, Smart Home Energy Source is acknowledged in its field for offering innovative grid-tied PV systems, off-grid solar power, ground-mount solar energy systems, solar carports, energy storage and electrical service upgrades. Over the years, the Smart Home Energy Source team gained extensive training, certification, and specialized expertise in managing complex solar and backup power projects. As a result, we’ve experienced substantial growth over the last decade, and have already established plans for continued expansion.

Unlike traditional Solar companies, at Smart Home, service is at the core of everything we do. Our relationships with Solar Panel providers give us the ability to extend our wholesale rates to our clients all while upgrading their electrical service. We work with our client’s specific deadline and budget, delivering a level of support and satisfaction that not only meets but exceeds expectations.

Sean Deptula Co-Founder

From a very young age Sean loved everything pertaining to the electrical field and firmly pursued that love and passion by enrolling into his High School electrical program from 2006-2008. Immediately after High School he continued to further his education by obtaininga NABCEP certification and eventually leading him to achieve his dream of becoming a Master Electrician. When the opportunity arose to partner with a childhood friend, Andrew, to provide sustainable energy options to Long Island residents he did not hesitate. Which led to the birth of Smart Home Energy Source. Within the company he helps build relationships and partnerships with new vendors and leads our team of electricians connecting residents and business owners to energy freedom.

Andrew Massimo Co-Founder

Andrew oversees sales organization objectives with the business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting. I Provide leadership to the sales organization, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior. Developed and written a business case in an effort to establish the appropriate Sales resources needed within the Utility segment business units on a commercial and residential scale. Introduced the firm’s capabilities/services to prospective clients and channel partners. Works closely with the Executive Team to assess opportunities and confirms that the type of work fits the company’s business model and risk profile.
Worked in conjunction with the Sales team to identify prospective projects, probabilities for securing the project and development of proposal submission.
Manages numerous operations teams in the business development process from opportunity targeting through proposal development, booking and transition to other administrative operations and installation team. Leads the creation and execution of yearly strategic business plans.
